A little bit about Lori...

Lori met her current husband Arvil Love in Las Vegas while visiting there with a friend. After a brief getting to know you period they have been married for 45 years. They have one son, (Jeffrey) who currently resides in Delft, Netherlands.

After Lori traveled around the world with her husband Arvil during his 22-year career in the Air Force, the Loves decided to return to his roots and move to Northeast Tennessee, where they have lived in Sullivan County for 30 years. She has been active in the Democratic Party for many years, and since 2014 she has served as an elected member of the Tennessee Democratic Party as an Executive Committeewoman representing State Senate District 4. She is a fount of information on Tennessee politics and a veteran of many local, state, and national political campaigns.

Previously Ms. Love worked for Human Resources for Fingerhut and as Office Manager for the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra. While working with the former conductor she helped form a nonprofit that gave music programs to local school children. A huge advocate for farmers markets, she served as treasurer of the Johnson City Farmers Market for five years and is currently treasurer of the Blountville Farmers Market. Her other volunteer activities are with the Upper East Tennessee Central Labor Council and the Blountville Historical Preservation Association.

Love emphasizes the value of the two-party system and the importance of the Democratic Party in Tennessee: “I am running in the upcoming election for the TN House D-3 position because the current super majority in the Tennessee Legislature seems to feel they have to answer to no one. The actions of the former representative in this seat bring to mind a lack of ethics and morals. The super majority continues to pass legislation that they know is unconstitutional. They no longer care about the citizens in Tennessee. It is time to bring back ‘for the people’ to Tennessee. That means ALL the people!”
